Author Guidelines

All submissions must be accompanied by a separate title page (header) containing the
following information:
a) Title: Full title of the manuscript
b) Author(s): Full name(s) of author(s), including ORCID iDs for all contributors
c) Word Count: Total word length of the manuscript
d) Date of Submission
e) Author Information:
    • Institutional affiliation(s)
    • Department (if applicable)
    • Full postal address
    • Email address
    • Telephone number

Abstract and Keywords
Each submission should include an abstract of no more than 150 words, followed by a
list of keywords (typically 4–6), separated by semicolons.

Anonymization and Review Process
Submissions to Elevate: A Buddhist Journal may be made with full author details, as the
journal manages the anonymization process internally. To ensure a fair and impartial
peer-review process, identifying information will be removed by the editorial team before
manuscripts are sent to reviewers.

Authors are nevertheless encouraged to avoid excessive self-identifying references within
the main text where possible. If clarification is needed, authors are welcome to consult
the editorial team.

Fonts and Transliteration
If specialized diacritic fonts are used (e.g., Indic Transliterator, Charis SIL, Gentium, or
similar), please specify the font name upon submission. Authors should follow the
journal’s transliteration standards as outlined in the Elevate Style Guide.

Copyright and Publication Rights
Authors of accepted manuscripts grant Elevate: A Buddhist Journal the right to publish
their work electronically and in other formats, and to archive it permanently as part of the
journal’s open-access repository.

Note
Elevate: A Buddhist Journal follows a diamond open access model, and does not
charge submission or publication fees.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure the following:
    File Format – Submit your manuscript as an MS Word or RTF file.
  • Originality – The article must be original, not previously published, and not under
    review elsewhere.
  • References – Include URLs for references where available.
  •  Formatting – The document should be single-spaced, use a 12-point font, apply italics
    (not underlining), and place all figures, tables, charts, and illustrations within the text at
    their relevant positions.
  • Guidelines Compliance – Ensure your submission follows the Author Guidelines.
  • Publication Category – Select the correct series for your article: Elevate-Nepal,
    Elevate-International, or Elevate News Online.
